Start by drawing lightly so that it can be easily erased if there are mistakes, continue by following the arrow step.
Step 1: Draw the Body Shape and Cow Legs
Start by drawing an oval for the cow’s body. Then add straight lines below for the cow’s legs.
- Tip: The body should be wide and rounded to give the cow a strong, sturdy look, and the legs can be simple straight lines or rectangles for ease.
Step 2: Draw the Face and Ears
Next, draw an oval for the cow’s face, then add a smaller oval at the front for the cow’s mouth and nose. After that draw two curved triangles on each side of the head to create the ears.
- Tip: Make the face oval large and the nose oval smaller, so it looks cute and proportional. The ears can be a little floppy for a friendly look.
Step 3: Draw Body Details
Firstly, draw rounded lines along the body and legs for body texture. For the tail, use a curved line with a skinny oval shape at the bottom, then add the back leg and rounded rectangles at the bottom of the legs for the hooves. Don’t forget to draw a half-circle with small triangles underneath the body for the udder!
- Tip: The rounded lines help make the cow look realistic while keeping the shapes simple for kids to follow.
Step 4: Draw the Cow Face Details (Eyes, Nose, and Horns)
Draw two ovals for the eyes, and add small circles inside each for extra detail. Above the eyes, add lines for the eyebrows. For the nose, draw two small ovals, and add curved shapes for the horns. To complete the face, draw a rounded cloudy shape between the horns for the cow’s hair.
- Tip: Big eyes and small details, like the nose and horns, make the cow look cute and friendly!
Step 5: Color Your Cow
Now that your cow drawing is complete, it’s time to color! Use classic black and white cow colors, or encourage your child to get creative with different colors.
- Tip: Traditional cows are black and white, but let your child explore with bright, fun colors to make the cow more unique.
